Netanyahu identified two primary objectives for negotiations with Lebanon: dismantling Hezbollah and establishing a lasting peace, noting that these efforts are based on a position of strength.
He stated that Israel continues military operations against the group, with fighting currently concentrated in the southern Lebanese city of Bint Jbeil, which he described as a major stronghold.
Netanyahu ordered the military to strengthen and expand the security zone eastward toward Mount Hermon, asserting that this move is intended to support the Druze community.
He noted that the negotiations are the first of their kind in over four decades and mentioned that the United States monitors Israel’s communications with Iran.
He clarified that Israel’s goals align with Washington’s, specifically regarding the transfer of enriched nuclear material out of Iran, ending Iran’s enrichment capabilities, and ensuring the opening of maritime straits.
Netanyahu concluded by stating that Israel is prepared for any scenario, including the possibility of renewed fighting.
