During a televised ceremony held at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Iranian regime, stating that Israel had delivered the “strongest strike in its history.”
Netanyahu emphasized that had Israel not taken action, Iranian nuclear sites such as Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan would have been forever associated with shame, drawing a parallel to Nazi concentration camps like Auschwitz and Treblinka.
Israel is currently commemorating the Holocaust from Monday evening to Tuesday, honoring the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis during World War II. The annual ceremony, which usually occurs in April or May, is taking place amid a fragile truce between the United States and Iran following a month of conflict. Concurrently, Israel continues its war with the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group in Lebanon.
In remarks made earlier on Monday, Netanyahu revealed that US Vice President JD Vance had contacted him on Sunday to discuss negotiations with Iran that concluded without an agreement. Netanyahu stated that following Iran’s violation of the rules, President Donald Trump decided to impose a naval blockade. He affirmed that Israel supports this firm position and maintains continuous coordination with the United States.
