Paris Saint-Germain secured a 2-0 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of the tie held in the French capital on Wednesday. The second leg is scheduled to take place tomorrow at Anfield stadium in the English city of Liverpool.
Enrique stated at the pre-match press conference: “The match will be different from the first leg. We need to know how to handle difficult situations that will arise, play in our usual style, and not play solely to secure a favorable result.”
He added: “Early periods in a match are usually very important; however, in modern football, the result can change in just five minutes. While it is important to start well, that will not be the key to the game.”
Enrique continued: “For me, it is a deceptive match, but football games change very quickly, and one must focus because an early goal could be conceded.”
Regarding Anfield, Enrique said: “When you are in your home stadium with your fans, things are easier and you are stronger. I know well how difficult it is to play at this stadium, but that motivates us. It is a deceptive match because no one can see the difference between the two teams yet, but we will see that tomorrow.”
He added: “As a coach, I have always tried to find balance. A 2-0 result is small compared to what I saw in the first game. We will go through difficult moments, but all players are motivated and we have great experience in this type of match. I am sure we are ready, but we will also suffer.”
