Government sources revealed that projects aimed at rehabilitating the capital and returning residents have stopped following the departure of Ibrahim Gaber from the Sovereign Council, noting that the handover of the High Committee for Environment Re-habitation to Prime Minister Kamal Adris has sparked tension. Retired officer Tariq Mohamed Khalid confirmed the suspension of these projects, citing a collapse in supply chains, particularly in the power sector where transformers are available but cannot be delivered. He expressed regret over Gaber’s exit, praising his efficiency and discipline, while criticizing the current leadership’s approach to governance. Journalist Muhammad Hamid Gomaa warned against allowing crises to accumulate without solutions, predicting a total collapse (“blackout”) in the country’s interior and the fragmentation of the unity camp due to government inaction or deliberate machinations. Activist Akram Ali emphasized the urgent need to maintain the Shambat Bridge, the vital link between Omdurman and Khartoum Bahri, warning that delaying maintenance for a year would be a mistake given the daily increase in traffic. He also advised the Prime Minister to focus on supervision rather than personally leading security committees, citing the risks of losing the big picture.
