Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed the activities of the National Committee for Combating Irregular Migration with the committee’s new head, Ambassador Amr Ramadan. The meeting focused on reviewing efforts to prevent irregular migration and raising awareness about its dangers, as well as developments regarding cases of missing persons and victims of irregular migration accidents.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance of enhancing prevention plans through intensified field visits to governorates witnessing high migration flows. He called for linking these awareness campaigns with development programs that offer real alternatives and opportunities for citizens most vulnerable to trafficking networks.
The Foreign Minister also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation with regional and international partners to formulate integrated projects aimed at combating migrant smuggling and providing necessary protection. He stressed the importance of close coordination between relevant ministries to ensure rapid response and effective handling of migration-related cases, balancing human and security aspects.
Furthermore, Abdelatty highlighted the necessity of prioritizing awareness campaigns and media messages, urging citizens to exercise maximum caution and avoid illegal travel routes regardless of the motives, in order to ensure their safety.
