Transitional Sovereign Council mourns the victims of a boat accident in Nahr Al-Nil state that resulted in the deaths of 24 people, including children.
The incident occurred in the areas of Deim Al-Qraya and Tayba Al-Khuwash, where a boat carrying 37 people sank. According to the media office in Mumea locality, the death toll has risen to 24, with 17 bodies recovered and 7 missing, while 13 people survived the tragedy.
The list of the deceased includes: Abdul Manam Tirir, Manhal Ibrahim, Wahiba Babker, Wafaq Al-Qasim Al-Agha, Thowiba Abdullah, Fawaq Al-Qasim Al-Agha, Najad Othman Al-Shoush, Hafsa Bakhit, Nahlah Mahmoud Saeed, Nadia Ahmed Othman, Minna Youssef Shamar (child), Tania Talat Sharq (child), Musi Hamza Musa, Aseela Al-Qasim Al-Agha, Inas Muhammad Ali Tirir, Zuhail Muhammad Hamuda, and Rihan Abdul Manam.
The missing persons are: Manal Hassan Al-Abd, Badriya: wife of Muhammad Qabbaj, Ibtihaj Muhammad Qabbaj, one of Ahmed Othman’s daughters, Al-Ameen Al-Hussain, Mustafa Al-Awadh, and Abdul Hafiz Fayez Qoz Al-Haj.
The survivors are: Abdel Aati Al-Ameen Bakhit, Nasreen Al-Haj Hamuda, Sittana Aboud Marami, Minna Youssef, Muhammad Othman Hamray, Tariq Al-Abd, Othman Al-Sayed, Al-Agha Al-Sayed, Alaa Al-Din Muhammad Hamuda, Abdul Rahman Al-Rayah, Muhammad Omar Al-Abd, Khadr Al-Qasim, and Abdel Aati Tirir.
The Sovereign Council expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of these citizens and thanked the civil defense teams and local committees for their efforts in the search and rescue operations.
