Donald Trump announced the start of talks with Iran aimed at resolving all hostilities between the two sides, stating that the United States and Iran have conducted productive discussions over the past two days, which will continue throughout the week. In light of the constructive nature of these talks, Trump directed the Department of Defense to delay any military strikes against Iranian energy facilities for five days, pending the outcome of the ongoing negotiations.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry responded by reaffirming its stance against any form of negotiations before Iran achieves its war objectives. Additionally, a senior security official cited by Tasnim suggested that Trump reversed the decision to attack vital infrastructure due to the credibility of Iran’s military threats, while also noting that financial market pressures and bond risks in the West played a role.
