Saudi Arabia significantly increased its oil production and exports in February, according to a draft OPEC monthly report. The surge in output, which reached 10.882 million barrels per day, was part of an emergency plan anticipating potential US and Israeli strikes on Iran that could disrupt Middle East supplies. The organization maintained its forecast for relatively strong global oil demand growth this year despite the escalation. Although the strikes occurred on February 28th, causing production halts and price increases, OPEC data shows that Saudi production had already risen from 10.10 million barrels per day in January to 10.882 million in February, with exports standing at 10.111 million barrels per day.
