A survey conducted by the newspaper *Mundo Deportivo* in collaboration with *Estudio Press*, involving a sample of 300 FC Barcelona members, indicates that former President Joan Laporta is the leading candidate for re-election.
Laporta secured 58.66 percent of the votes, maintaining a significant lead over his rivals. The poll reflects a rise in his popularity compared to the 2021 election, where he obtained 54.28 percent. Victor Font, leader of the “Nosaltres” platform, ranks second with 20.33 percent, while Marc Cercle, head of the “Moviment 42” group, trails with 7.33 percent.
Among the poll respondents, 37 members stated they would not vote for any candidate in the upcoming election scheduled for March 15. The survey was conducted following Barcelona’s match against Levante and prior to a complaint filed by a club member against Laporta and other officials, accusing them of money laundering and receiving illegal currency, which Laporta dismissed as baseless.
The electoral campaign is set to run from March 6 to 13, culminating in the vote on March 15, followed by the official announcement of the new president. Spanish media sources suggest Laporta has a high probability of retaining his position, particularly following the team’s recent success in winning the Spanish league, the King’s Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup, despite the financial crisis facing the club.
