بنك الخرطوم يخصم مبالغ كبيرة من حسابات عملائه دون توضيح

Bank of Khartoum deducted amounts from customers’ accounts without prior notice under the name “Savings Fund,” sparking widespread anger. Customers described the move as unlawful and an abuse of trust, arguing that basic banking rules mandate clear contracts, prior notice, and explicit approval for any deductions. Hassan Al-Tayeb Hassan stated that the random withdrawals under vague titles constitute a violation of the funds deposited by citizens and demanded transparency and the return of illegally deducted amounts. Adel Ibrahim noted that banks are legally required to notify customers before such deductions. He pointed out that many customers are unaware of these charges, which causes significant distress, particularly when funds are withdrawn from trust accounts intended for others, forcing account holders to cover the losses personally. Other clients reported losing specific amounts, such as 2,000 EGP, without any warning. These customers labeled the practice as predatory and a crime, criticizing the bank for exploiting customer loyalty during difficult economic times. The affected clients have called on the government and the relevant ministry to intervene, urging the bank to respect customer rights, improve its digital applications, and uphold transparency to prevent such financial irregularities in the future.
