Trump also mentioned that signals sent by the Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, could be significant. Regarding the negotiations, Trump stated that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President J.D. Vance, and US envoy Steve Witkoff will participate, with him taking part as well.
He explained that Washington aims to sign an agreement to save millions of lives, as possessing nuclear weapons in Tehran poses a global threat. Trump noted that Iran’s leadership has been eliminated, leaving a surviving group, and that they are awaiting the results of the talks, which could lead to a change in the regime, though they expressed trust in them.
Regarding the navigation blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said the US is awaiting results on oil flow and aims to end the process with the fewest casualties, while reiterating that Iran will not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. He emphasized that the primary condition is that Iran must not have nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
Trump discussed Iran’s military capabilities, claiming that its naval fleet and air forces have departed, communication is lost, and most missiles are gone, leaving little to launch. He stated that US forces are freely moving in Iranian skies, noting that no one can intercept their aircraft. He asserted that the US military has achieved a success unparalleled in previous conflicts, comparing it to the situation in Venezuela.
Trump confirmed that the US is ahead of schedule in achieving war goals, having destroyed missile platforms, military weapons, and nuclear facilities. He added that if they had intended to destroy their energy plants, they could have done so, and no one can stop them.
