President Donald Trump disclosed that Iran has presented a “very large gift” valued at a significant monetary amount regarding oil and gas, though he refrained from detailing the specific value. He noted that Washington is currently communicating with “the right people” in Iran, indicating that the Iranian side is seeking to conclude an agreement with Washington.

Reports indicate that Trump’s envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, are working on a mechanism to end the war in Iran. This mechanism involves a one-month ceasefire during which negotiations will take place on a framework agreement similar to those in Gaza and Lebanon. The agreement would impose strict limitations on Iran’s nuclear program and other conditions.

The proposed framework includes dismantling current nuclear capabilities, a permanent commitment not to pursue nuclear weapons, and halting all enrichment activities within Iran’s borders. Other stipulations involve handing over all enriched materials to the International Atomic Energy Agency within a set timeline, shutting down and destroying facilities such as Natanz, Esfahan, and Fordo, and granting the IAEA full access to all Iranian information. Additionally, the plan calls for Iran to abandon its proxy approach, cease funding and arming regional militias, maintain the open status of the Strait of Hormuz, limit missiles to defensive use only, lift all sanctions, and receive assistance in developing a civilian nuclear program in Bushehr, while removing the threat of automatic sanctions reinstatement.

Despite skepticism about Iran’s acceptance of these terms, there is significant concern in Israel regarding the possibility of a rushed framework agreement. Israeli officials fear that the US administration might prioritize a general deal over specific details.

In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has intensified his efforts in recent days. Upon receiving initial signals of renewed communication between the two sides, he assigned former Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, a close confidant, to handle these talks. Dermer is now tasked with managing Israel’s “red lines” and preventing the signing of what Israel deems a “bad” agreement.
