Just prior to these strikes, a vehicle was targeted on the Khaldah road in southern Beirut, resulting in two deaths, according to the National News Agency.
Reports regarding the targets of the recent airstrikes were conflicting. The Israeli army stated it targeted a “high-ranking Hezbollah leader” and a “prominent terrorist” in two separate operations in the Beirut area. Lebanese media, citing sources, suggested the target was a “major Iranian figure.” Earlier, an Israeli airstrike hit the Mansuriyah area in northern Beirut without any reported casualties.
Southern Beirut witnessed intense strikes targeting the Bir al-Abd and al-Ghabiri areas. Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued its ground advance in southern Lebanon, accompanied by artillery shelling along the Litani River.
Field clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli army continued along the axes of Taiba, Qantara, and Fuq’ani, with reports of a violent explosion in the town of Khyam. Aerial shelling by Israel affected several towns in Nabatiyeh and Marjayoun, with the heaviest intensity directed at the towns of Arabsalim, Sraifa, and Najjarieh in the Sour district, resulting in eight deaths. In eastern Lebanon, the Western Beqaa towns of Mechghara and Sukhmer were subjected to a wave of intense Israeli airstrikes. Additionally, reports indicate the death of four Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon.
