The Maritime Security Center announced that the oil tanker “Skylight”, flying the flag of Palau, was targeted five nautical miles north of the Khasab Port in the Musandam Governorate.
The announcement clarified that all 20 crew members were evacuated, consisting of 15 Indian nationals and 5 Iranian nationals. Preliminary reports indicated that four crew members suffered varying injuries and were transferred for treatment.
Earlier on Sunday, a security source reported that the commercial port of Dakhma in southern Oman was targeted by two piloted aircraft. One aircraft struck residential accommodation for migrant workers, injuring an individual, while the debris of the other fell near fuel tanks without causing casualties.
The Sultanate of Oman condemned the targeting, stating that it is taking all necessary measures to deal with any actions threatening the safety of the country and its citizens.
