The Islamic Group in Lebanon stated that Israeli forces arrested one of its officials during a raid in the early morning hours in the village of Al-Habbariyah near Hasbaya. The Israeli army described the detained individual as a “major terrorist” and transferred him to Israel for interrogation.
Since the 2024 war with Hizbollah, Israel has conducted regular raids in Lebanon. Security sources indicate that these operations have resulted in approximately 400 deaths since the ceasefire began. Reports indicate that three people were killed in a raid on the village of Yannouh, including a three-year-old child.
The Israeli army stated that it killed a Hizbollah militant in Yannouh, identifying him as the area’s artillery commander. It noted that the individual had carried out numerous attacks on Israel during the war and was involved in rehabilitating Hizbollah’s artillery capabilities. The army acknowledged receiving reports regarding civilian casualties and stated that it took steps to minimize damage, including the use of precision munitions and surveillance measures, while adding that the incident is under review.
Reports indicate that the fourth victim was in the border village of Aita al-Shaab, where the Lebanese Ministry of Health stated a man was killed by Israeli fire. The Israeli army claimed it eliminated a Hizbollah terrorist in Aita al-Shaab, alleging he collected intelligence on Israeli forces and worked on rehabilitating terrorist infrastructure.
Hizbollah issued a statement characterizing the events as a “dangerous development” warning of a new phase of Israeli “lawlessness.” Israel accuses Hizbollah of attempting to rearm in violation of the ceasefire agreement, while Hizbollah asserts that it respects the ceasefire in southern Lebanon.
