Iraqji said in a post on the social media platform X that the holy month of Ramadan represents an opportunity to enhance piety and cohesion within the Islamic world. He called on the two nations to manage their disputes through dialogue and good neighborliness, affirming Iran’s readiness to provide necessary assistance to bolster understanding and cooperation.
These statements came after Islamabad declared what it termed an “open war” on the Taliban government, following airstrikes targeting sites in Kabul, a development that reflects a serious escalation in tensions between the two nations.
Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced an “open war” against the Afghan government on Friday, following exchanges of deadly strikes between the two sides.
Asif wrote on X that “patience has run out,” noting that the conflict has now become an “open war” between the two parties.
He further asserted that Afghanistan has become a platform for gathering and exporting terrorism to the region. He stated that patience is exhausted and that they will face any aggression decisively, adding that their armed forces will respond decisively to any targeting of Pakistan.
He continued by claiming that the Taliban have turned Afghanistan into a colony subservient to India, while noting that Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghans over the decades and that this role has been positive.
