President Aleksandar Vucic stated that Serbia is monitoring developments related to trilateral defense cooperation, adding that “they are waiting for a favorable moment, and we are preparing for their attack.” This statement comes in reference to a trilateral declaration on defense cooperation signed by Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo in Tirana on March 18, 2025, aiming to strengthen security cooperation and military integration among the three nations.
Vucich pointed out that Serbia possesses advanced weaponry, including Chinese-made hypersonic ground-to-air missiles with a range of approximately 400 kilometers, describing them as among the most advanced systems. He also confirmed that the country maintains good relations with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) while continuing to adhere to a policy of military neutrality.
Regarding relations with Croatia, Vucich accused Zagreb of attempting to undermine Serbia over the past year and a half, as well as interfering in its internal affairs. These comments arrive at a time when discussions on security and defense policies are escalating in the Balkans, amid the accelerated pace of military modernization and the continuation of political tensions among several regional countries.
