القوات الأميركية تنسحب من سوريا "في غضون شهر"

The United States is proceeding with the withdrawal of its troops from Syria, evacuating military bases that have been occupied for over a decade. This move comes as government forces advance into areas previously controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which agreed to integrate its institutions and forces into the Syrian state following years of American support.

US forces were deployed in Syria and Iraq as part of an international coalition established in 2014 to combat the “Islamic State” (ISIS), after the group seized large swathes of territory in both countries before being driven out by 2019.

According to reports, the withdrawal process will be completed within a month, leaving no military presence in field bases. Military sources indicate the operation will last between three and five weeks, while diplomatic circles suggest the process could be finalized within 20 days. It is expected that no US military bases will remain in Syria.

US media recently reported that Washington plans to withdraw approximately 1,000 troops from Syria within the coming two months.

The decision is made against the backdrop of Washington supporting the new Syrian government led by President Ahmed al-Sharaa in its efforts to unify the country. Syria joined the international coalition led by Washington late last year.

Visual evidence shows heavy trucks carrying armored vehicles and equipment moving on international roads linking the Hasakah province to Iraqi Kurdistan, accompanied by US machinery and helicopters. Military sources stated that operations are underway to transfer military equipment and logistics from the Central Command base (Concordia) to Iraq.

Details indicate that over the coming days, consecutive convoys carrying military equipment, logistics, radar systems, and missiles will be transferred from the remaining bases in northern and eastern Syria, specifically from Concordia and the Al-Jir base in the Hasakah countryside.

The withdrawal is expected to be carried out primarily by air, with a portion of the ground forces accompanying the convoys heading towards Iraq.
