Field Marshal Rakeeb Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, stressed the importance of supporting police projects, particularly medical ones, calling for the development of police health facilities and the enhancement of service quality to provide the best healthcare for police personnel and their families.

During his visit yesterday to Al-Rabat University Hospital in East Omdurman, Al-Burhan commended the sacrifices made by police and medical cadres during the “Karama” battle. The visit aimed to monitor maintenance and rehabilitation operations at the facility.

The Chairman of the Sovereign Council met with Police General Amir Abdel-Monem Fadl, Director-General of Police Forces, and Police Brigadier Tariq Hassan Haj Ali, Director-General of Medical Services. He listened to a detailed report on the performance of the Medical Services Administration, covering maintenance efforts and challenges facing the full restoration of the hospital.

Al-Burhan also praised the support provided to Al-Qashlaq Al-Haj Yousef medical center, which included medical equipment, furniture, ambulances, and a handicraft workshop for women in the area.

Reports indicate that Al-Rabat University Hospital suffered severe damage to its infrastructure and equipment, leading to a complete halt in services. Efforts are now underway by the Ministry of Interior and the Police Command to rehabilitate the hospital and peripheral medical centers, such as Bahri and Al-Haj Yousef, to resume medical services for citizens.
