Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, asserted that Abdalla Hamdok and his group will never return to Sudan, dismissing them as individuals exploiting the nation’s issues. He rejected claims by Hassan al-Turabi regarding the use of chemical weapons, stating that the Sudanese people, who constitute the army, will not lend credence to such allegations.
Addressing the people of Al-Qadarif during a visit to the Sheikh Al-Hidayah Complex, Burhan criticized nations that continue to support Hamdok, accusing them of aiding terrorism. He stated that the Sudanese people will seek retribution from opposition leaders for their crimes against the nation and its army, affirming that they will remain while the opposition will not return.
The military leader highlighted Al-Qadarif as a model of reconstruction and national unity, noting that the voluntary return of citizens serves as the strongest response to those claiming the country is unsafe. He urged citizens not to follow detractors or traitors attempting to obstruct returns, emphasizing that the return of the population is a matter of free will. Burhan concluded that the Sudanese people are beginning to reap the fruits of the sacrifices made through blood and martyrdom.
