Despite the ongoing conflict, official procedures regarding exports to the UAE remain active, as no formal decree has been issued to halt trade with the country. Export licenses continue to be granted daily, allowing commodities to pass through Sudanese borders.

While gold faces restrictions, most other goods continue to move to the UAE with the knowledge and approval of official authorities. Reports indicate that despite these movements, the export sectors, particularly gum arabic and sesame seeds, are facing destruction from within.

Confirmations verify that meat exports are occurring from Al-Qadarif to the UAE via Suakin, with shipments reaching 15 tons. Furthermore, investigations have revealed a smuggling network involving Indian brokers and local traders. These networks are purchasing watermelon seeds in Sudan at low prices and smuggling them to India via the UAE, despite official regulations.

This operation benefits from India’s preferential trade agreements, which grant tariff exemptions to Sudanese seeds while imposing duties on imports from other nations. This discrepancy allows for significant financial losses, as seeds are bought for 800 dollars per ton in Sudan and sold for 4000 dollars in India.

This situation calls for urgent intervention by economic security authorities to prevent the exploitation of official documents by smugglers and to protect the interests of farmers and traders.
