Israeli aircraft conducted air raids targeting the Shehaye area in southern Lebanon. Simultaneously, a series of strikes were launched against villages in the region, including Kfar, Jamjama, Safad al-Batikh, Majdal Selm, Deir Antar, and the vicinity of Jisr al-Qasimiya. The Lebanese group Hezbollah announced that it would continue its operations against Israel in response to the recent deadly air raids. The group stated that it had targeted the Manara kibbutz in northern Israel during the night, citing a violation of the ceasefire agreement. Hezbollah added that its retaliatory operations would persist until the “Israeli-American aggression” ceases.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the air raids conducted on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of at least 182 people. Despite a two-week ceasefire agreement brokered between the United States and Iran, Israel confirmed it would continue its operations against Hezbollah. While reports indicate that Iran is considering withdrawing from the truce due to continued Israeli strikes, the United States maintains that Lebanon is not included in the ceasefire.
Israel launched extensive and surprise strikes across Lebanon on Wednesday, following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s denial that the ceasefire applies to Israeli operations in the country. The Israeli military stated that the operation aimed to target Hezbollah leaders and military infrastructure, while Lebanese authorities reported that a large number of civilians were killed or injured.
