Electric Utility Company denied reports circulating in the media regarding the exclusion of Sudanese engineers from maintenance operations at the Merowe Dam, conducted by a Chinese contractor, describing these claims as inaccurate. The company affirmed its absolute confidence in the efficiency of its employees within electricity companies.
Media reports had indicated that the Chinese company excluded Sudanese engineers, relying on only three out of thirteen engineers. The company stated in its clarification that it praises the great efforts of its workers, appreciating their sacrifices and continuous dedication, especially amidst the deliberate targeting of electricity infrastructure by rebel militias. It called on citizens and the media to obtain information from official sources and not to be swayed by false news aimed at creating panic and undermining technical and administrative stability.
