Medical sources and injured individuals reported deteriorating conditions among victims in Nyala and Melut, noting that necrosis has reached the point of amputation in severe cases. The lack of effective treatment has left many relying on loans and camel urine. One injured person stated that their family exhausted all savings to treat two children, while children of the Maheria receive treatment in the UAE and India. Furthermore, there are reports of attempts to evacuate Maheria children from the UAE military hospital to Ethiopia, leaving others to endure harsh humanitarian conditions and primitive medical methods.
