The coalition stated in a statement issued by its Political Communication and Foreign Relations Committee that the war in Sudan represents the “biggest humanitarian disaster in the world.” It expressed hope that the appointment of the new envoy would contribute more effectively to peace efforts.
The “Sudan’s Resilience” faction affirmed its readiness to engage positively with the UN envoy and his team to support peace efforts. It emphasized the importance of coordinating existing initiatives and pressuring warring parties to accept an immediate and unconditional ceasefire for humanitarian purposes, without favoring any side.
The statement also called for launching a political process titled “Sudanese Leadership and Sovereignty,” which aims to respond to the aspirations of the Sudanese people, as articulated by the December Revolution, for building a modern civil state based on freedom, peace, and justice, away from the dominance of the previous regime and the militarization of power.
