بنك الخرطوم يخصم مبالغ كبيرة من حسابات عملائه دون توضيح

Bank of Khartoum customers have expressed strong discontent following the bank’s decision to deduct funds from their accounts under the name of the “Deposit Fund” without prior notice or explanation. This move has been widely criticized as illegal and a breach of trust, with customers alleging that the bank is exploiting the funds deposited with it.

Customer Hassan Al-Tayeb Hassan described the withdrawals as unacceptable and contrary to basic banking rules. He stated that banking laws clearly mandate that any deduction must be based on a known contract and explicit customer approval. He argued that deducting money without prior notification constitutes an infringement on citizens’ money and an abuse of trust. Hassan called for transparency and the return of any wrongly deducted funds, while also urging the government to support local banks by developing modern applications that safeguard customer rights.

Another customer reported the deduction of 2,000 pounds from his account without a valid reason, describing the act as theft with premeditation. He criticized the bank for exploiting customers during a time when they are thanking the institution for its support during complex crises.

Additionally, Adel Ibrahim pointed out that banks are legally required to notify customers before such deductions. He noted that many customers are unaware of these charges, and the situation becomes critical when funds are deducted from “Amanah” (Trust) accounts for third parties, forcing the account holder to cover the deficit from their own funds. He called for an official clarification and the modernization of banking systems to prevent such errors.
